From velvety rich touch to Ephea is grown from fungal mycelium, through a re-generative process involving low-value resources and low-energy inputs. Our production process dramatically limits water consumptions and land use, whilst also significantly reducing CO2 emissions, compared to conventional materials, such as animal leather.

Its surface is smooth and ethereal, reminiscent of the delicate cap of a freshly emerged mushroom, with a soft and spongy structure, evoking the harmony and uniqueness of Nature. A material that preserves the authentic essence of its origin: delicate yet full of potential, ready to transform and to be transformed, and already capable of expressing a raw, authentic beauty.

Suitable for

Ephea Pure Mycelium is the raw, unprocessed version of Ephea, as emerging from the generative, biofabrication-driven process. It is suitable for customers that wish to explore mycelium potential from the ground up.

Ephea Radicle

Ephea Radicle is the foundational form of Ephea — a stabilised material that serves as the blank canvas for all future transformations. As its name suggests, Radicle marks the beginning of the creative journey, from which every unique finish emerges.

Radicle is an evolved, yet transitional form of Ephea Pure Mycelium, functioning as a blank canvas for technical and aesthetic expression.
Its name – ‘Radicle’ – embeds its essential character: it is from here that all the following transformations and finishes can manifest. Ephea Radicle marks the beginning of the creative process, the start of a journey throughout which Ephea further evolves, gaining unique personalities all along.

Ephea Radicle is a strengthened and enriched version of Ephea Pure Mycelium, ready for further downstream transformations and overall processing.
It’s designed for customers who wish to conduct R&D, starting from a base that allows experimenting with finishes, treatments, and design choices, to maximise mycelium’s aesthetic and performances, in the most bespoke manner..

Ephea Socotra

Inspired by the resilient Socotra dragon tree, Ephea Socotra features a unique soft-touch finish enriched with special resins for added strength. Like the tree’s red resin, it enhances durability and resistance, blending nature and innovation in a surface built to last.

Just as this extraordinary plant regenerates and strengthens itself and the ecosystem through its resin, Ephea Socotra is infused with new resilience thanks to a unique transformative process. Its smooth surface becomes more durable, with increased resistance to abrasion and tearing. Deeply embedding the fusion between Nature and innovation, Ephea Socotra is built to stand the test of time.

It’s an enhanced version of Ephea Radicle, offering mechanical performance and a stable starting point for further refinements, by means of mechanical treatments and top-coats, allowing customers to autonomously shape the look and feel of the finished material.

Ephea Willow features the most fluid finish in the range, evoking the lightness of weeping willow branches. Its gently wrinkled, irregular texture reveals the natural pattern of mycelium, with subtle veining reminiscent of willow leaves — an elegant tribute to nature’s graceful simplicity.

Ephea Willow is the product’s range characterised by the most fluid drape, providing Ephea with a lightness reminiscent of the gently swaying branches of a weeping willow. Its unique texture — harmoniously irregular and kindly wrinkled— reveals the natural pattern of the mycelium network, with subtle veining echoing the streaks of the willow trees’ leaves. An elegant material expression celebrating the authentic beauty of nature in all its grace and simplicity.

Suitable for

Ephea Willow offers versatility. Its supple character and fluid behaviour make it suitable for both soft, slouchy bags and more structured products in leather goods, but also for RTW/apparel applications. It can withstand intense mechanical stress in product construction, including sharp folds, injection and padding processes. It also allows for an excellent edge painting effect.
Its unique texture adds character and helps to disguise minor imperfections or everyday wear.

Ephea Monstera captures the bold elegance of the Monstera leaf — nearly smooth, finely grained, and with subtle luster. Its impeccably uniform surface catches the light and guides the touch, evoking the feeling of gliding your fingers over the lush, sculptural curves of such sinuous tropical plant. With a finish that blends natural beauty and minimalist style, it is both polished and untamed.

Suitable for

Ephea Monstera’s smooth and uniform character imparts elegant and minimalist aesthetics.
This product is particularly suitable for LG applications such as semi-rigid bag constructions with flat surfaces and simple curves, where it can deliver a clean, uncluttered appearance. It can also be used in RtW/apparel, as for instance in the manufacturing of clean leather jackets, among others.
It is not recommended for soft and draped applications or sharp fold, as its inherently firm body is optimised to conform to gentle shapes.

Ephea Magnolia

Ephea Magnolia evokes the soft, velvety feel of magnolia petals with a fluid, sensual texture. Minimalist yet durable, it balances elegance and function — ideal for those seeking a contemporary and sensory design.

Obsidian

A black that pulls you in, solid and pure. The void, yet full of strength. Silent, commanding, unapologetically raw. It is Ephea — elegant, eternal, elemental.

Khaki

Khaki is dust, dry earth caked beneath your nails, the color of worn roads and long silences.
It comes from khāk — Persian for soil. Not green, not brown, but something in between: lived-in, low-voiced, unshaken.
It’s the shade after the sun, the hush after the riot. A color that doesn’t shout, but stays.

Terra
